SNAP is federal, but each state decides when benefits go out — usually staggered by case number, last name, or Social Security Number.
Many states assign your deposit day from the last digit(s) of your case number.
Other states go alphabetically: the first letter(s) of your last name set your day.
Some states use the last digits of your SSN, your birth year, or your birth month.
